Forethought sells to support, IT and security teams that already run a help desk and have no intention of replacing it. It sits on top of yours, and the vendor's integration page names 23, including Front, Gorgias, Intercom, Kustomer, Salesforce, ServiceNow and Zammad.

Four agents ship on the platform: triage, assist, resolve and discover. Team covers chat and mobile, autoflows, custom actions, CSAT collection and AI QA. Email, voice and Slack agents start on Professional. Enterprise adds the Solve API, the Analytics API and knowledge-gap detection. The bill is what Forethought calls a blend of platform access fees and an outcome-based pricing cost, plus usage charges when you pass a plan limit.

What it does not do is put a number next to any of that. All three plans read Get a Quote, and Zendesk's pricing page routes you to Contact Sales too. Forethought also never defines the outcome it charges for, so the billed unit has no published meaning. There is no free trial, only a Proof of Value whose cost is unstated. No export documentation is published anywhere on the site, and the two data-access APIs sit on Enterprise, with the Analytics API also sold as a paid add-on. FedRAMP is an explicit no.

Zendesk completed the acquisition in March 2026 and still sells Forethought for other stacks, promising no migration. Ada and Decagon sell a comparable agent layer without a parent that also sells the help desk underneath. All three sit in AI support agents.
