Teams that already run Zendesk or Salesforce rarely want to replace the help desk just to get an AI agent. Fin is Intercom's answer to that problem: the same agent that ships inside its own suite, sold separately to sit on the ticketing system you already pay for.
Your help desk stays the system of record. Fin trains on your existing help centre, answers over its own Messenger plus email, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Slack, and passes the conversation back to your agents when it cannot finish. Billing is a $49 monthly base plan covering 50 resolutions, then $0.99 for each outcome after that, with unlimited teammates and no seat charge. Unused resolutions do not carry over.
What it does not do is let you buy it yourself. Only the Intercom version has self-serve sign-up; every other platform goes through sales-assisted onboarding, and the standalone card on the pricing page carries a Contact sales button. Zendesk, the most heavily documented integration, is absent from that page's list of supported help desks. Qualification outcomes are Intercom-only. EU and Australian hosting needs a contract, and workspaces cannot move between regions.
Eesel AI charges $0.40 per ticket handled whether or not it lands, so a wrong answer costs money there and nothing here. Forethought and Ada quote rather than publish, which leaves $0.99 the only checkable per-outcome rate. The Intercom suite sells the same agent at the same rate on top of seats. Compare the billed event across AI support agents.
