Nothing here is sold, and nothing is passed to data brokers. Cookies come from two places only: Google Analytics, and staying signed in if you make an account. What the site collects is below, service by service.
Traffic is measured with Umami, served from this domain. It records the page, the referrer, the country, and the browser and device type. It sets no cookies and builds no profile, so the numbers say how many people read a page and nothing about who they were.
Google Analytics runs alongside it and is the less private of the two. It loads a script from Google, sets its own cookies, and sends Google the page you are on, the referrer, an approximate location, your device and browser, and a random id that links your visits to each other on this site. It is never sent your name or email address, and this site does not turn on the Google advertising features that would let those visits follow you elsewhere. Google still receives the data on its own terms, and you can stop it with Google's opt-out add-on or any browser setting or extension that blocks it.
Subscribing sends your email address to Resend, which stores it and sends the emails. It is used for the newsletter and nothing else. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes the address.
You can read everything here without an account. If you make one, you sign in with Google or with a link emailed to you, and the site stores your name, email address and profile image, plus a cookie that keeps you signed in. Google is told you signed in; it is not told what you do afterwards.
Bookmarks and shortlists are attached to that account and visible to nobody else unless you publish a shortlist yourself.
Submit a tool or report a wrong price and the site keeps what you wrote and the address you gave, because that record is the evidence behind whatever changed. A correction may be quoted on the site. Your email address never is.
Paid listings and ads run through Stripe. Card details go to Stripe and never touch this site's servers. What comes back is the amount, the last four digits, and whether it worked.
Ads are served by Revinel through this domain. They are picked by the page you are on, not by who you are. No ad cookies, no retargeting, no third-party pixels.
Some links to vendors are affiliate links that pay a commission if you sign up, and the vendor can see you arrived from here. It changes nothing about how a product is described. Prices are read off the vendor's own pages either way — see how the numbers get here.
Each one gets only what its job needs, and none of them get it for their own purposes. Nothing is sold or passed to data brokers.
Email hello@supportalternatives.com for a copy of what is stored about you, a correction, or deletion of the lot. Deleting an account takes its bookmarks and shortlists with it. You will get a reply from a person, usually within a few days.
Analytics is aggregate and has nothing in it to delete. Newsletter addresses stay until you unsubscribe, account data until you delete the account, and submissions and corrections for as long as the entry they changed is published.
