Groove sold a per-seat shared inbox to small support teams for twelve years. In 2026 it renamed itself Helply, redirected groovehq.com to the new domain and narrowed to B2B software companies above $1M ARR whose tickets need account context from Stripe before anyone can answer.
Then it threw out the seat. The entire bill is $1 per ticket, covering the platform, every channel and every AI capability, so engineers, AEs and PMs sit in the inbox for nothing. Email, Slack Connect, Microsoft Teams, Discord, WhatsApp, SMS, an in-app widget and a webhook API feed one queue. Resolutions, drafts, churn flags and agent actions are unmetered, and escalating to a human costs no more than resolving.
The catch is the floor. Contracts run annually against a 250-ticket monthly minimum, so the smallest published commitment is $3,000 a year and a smaller team pays for tickets it never files. There is no free plan and no self-serve signup, only a demo. SSO, audit logs and data residency appear in no published matrix, and Helply documents no export while its migration tool runs one way, from Zendesk in. Groove Classic customers keep a product no longer sold, whose prices left the marketing site with the redirect.
Pylon chases the same B2B buyer and still bills per seat. Help Scout charges $25 per user plus $0.75 per AI resolution, so Helply wins on headcount and loses on volume. Zendesk is the platform its migration guide is written against. It files under help desk software.
