Small teams that want phone support without buying a separate contact centre tend to land here. LiveAgent has run out of Bratislava since 2004, still under the two founders listed as CEOs in its own impressum.
Four paid plans cost $15, $29, $49 and $69 per agent per month on annual billing, or $19, $35, $59 and $85 month to month. Both numbers sit on the page in plain text, and the plan header carries the monthly one, which almost nobody else does. The free plan takes unlimited users, one email channel and seven days of ticket history. Nothing is metered: the nine AI features are rows in the plan matrix, not a billed unit.
What it does not publish is a cheap seat. No light, viewer or collaborator class appears in the documentation, so every occasional contributor costs a full agent. Facebook, X, Viber and WhatsApp run $39 a month each on the two cheapest plans, and a second knowledge base is $19. SLA rules and custom roles start at Medium business. Cancel a prepaid annual plan and the terms keep half the unused balance. Only tickets have a documented export (HTML, PDF, CSV), and no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 claim appears on the site.
Zendesk charges $19 for email ticketing alone, where $19 here also buys chat and phone. Zoho Desk and Help Scout both sell a light seat, at $6 and $10, which LiveAgent does not. All four are help desk software.
